Outpatient Center Staff
Kris Lausterer PT, DPT, MHS, OCS is a board certified physical therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience. He holds a doctorate in physical therapy from Arcadia University, and a Masters of Health Science from the University of Indianapolis. Kris’ work experience has included helping to establish the Nebraska Orthopedic Hospital physical therapy department and serving as Director of Clinical Education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
Kris has worked with clients of all ages and abilities, including pro athletes to people struggling to remain independent in their homes. He believes in providing cost-effective and superior care for his clients so, they achieve their goals as quickly as possible. Physical therapy at the Comper Care Outpatient Center is provided on a 1:1 client to therapist basis and no unskilled or unlicensed professionals participate in the client’s therapy. This model of care provides the best outcomes for our clients.
Edyta Deges is the business office manager at Comper Care Outpatient Center. She has several years of experience working in the health care including serving as the Medical Senior Associate at Nebraska Medical Center. She received her Associate degree in Health Information Management from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, NE.
Edyta is married to Jason Deges who is serving in the United States Air Force. Edyta and Jason live with their children in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
Dr. Michael Black is very pleased to join Comper Care Outpatient Therapy as outpatient physical therapist, serving both the Walnut Grove and Maple Ridge independent living communities.
Dr. Black received his bachelors degrees from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and graduated with honors from Creighton University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2002. Over the past 16 years, he has gained vast experience working in a variety of practice settings including outpatient clinics, home health and skilled rehabilitation. He has served a variety of patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and athletes. Dr. Black has provided other services including workplace ergonomic evaluations, and has worked extensively with patients utilizing orthotics and prosthetics. He also helped launch new therapy initiatives within the profession such as “Vitality to You”, and has served in the workplace at both a staff and managerial level.
Dr. Black has received several honors for his service in the physical therapy profession and commitment to outstanding clinical practice. This includes The Alegent Award of Excellence as well as being named to the Genesis Physical Therapy Leadership Committee. Michael has provided the physical therapy orientation for CNA’s being trained for nursing colleges, as well as various assisted living and long term care facilities. He is committed to clinical competence, personal growth, outstanding patient care, and developing the level of healthcare customer service delivery.
